    1.  Does the Bible and first commandment imply that there are other pagan gods that exist? (Exodus 20:1-3; Deuteronomy 10:17)

    2.  What does the Bible mean by “you are gods” / “ye are gods” in Psalm 82:6 and John 10:34?

    3.  Is there such thing as atheism? (Psalm 14:1; Ephesians 4:18-19; Job 12:7-5, Romans 1:18)

    4.   Why was the worship of Baal and Asherah a constant struggle for the Israelites? (Numbers 25:1-2; 1 Samuel 8:5, 20; 1 Cor 10:20; Hosea 2:16-18)

    5.  What are some forms of British idolatry? How can we guard ourselves from idols? (1 John 5:21)

  • Exodus 20:4-6

    1.  What is a graven (Deuteronomy 4:16) or a “molten” image (Exodus 34:17)? Isn’t it just an expression of art?

    2.  What was the sacred stone in Leviticus 26:1? (Also see: Deuteronomy 4:28; 28:64; Jeremiah 2:27-28; Isaiah 44:9-20)

    3.  Research how the Catholic bible modifies the first two commandments and the tenth commandment? Why do you think they did this?

    4.   The classic movie Ben Hur never shows the face of Jesus Christ. Is this right? Do we have liberty to make images of God the Father in the Sistine Chapel, or Jesus Christ as long as we don’t bow down to them? Can you support your position with scripture?

    5.   Many people have made “a god” in their own minds. How can we refute some of these common misconceptions about God. I have given a few scripture examples. Can you think of others?

    -   God is an Impersonal Force (Ex 3:14)

    -   God is only love (Isaiah 6:3)

    -   God is vengeful and angry (Nahm 1:3)

    -   God has unchanging methods (Heb 1:1-2)

    - God is limited by our understanding (Is 55:8-9)

    -   God tolerates sin (Rom 6:23)

    -   God favours certain people (Acts 10:34-35)

    -   God needs human help (Job 42:2)
